In an exclusive interview, Danny Welbeck revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson, his former manager at Manchester United, called him after his extra-time winner against Newcastle United, sending Brighton into the FA Cup quarter-finals. Welbeck, who is now playing under Fabian Hurzeler at Brighton, is two years older than his coach but has produced some of the best form of his career under him. He is now one goal away from becoming Brighton's outright all-time top scorer in the Premier League. Despite a history of injuries, Welbeck is staying injury-free and is hopeful of a memorable season both on a personal level and for Brighton as they prepare to host Nottingham Forest in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
