Rangers Eyeing New Manager for Fresh Era

Rangers' new sporting director Kevin Thelwell has stated that the club's manager search is progressing well and should be complete in the coming days, following the consortium-led takeover last week. Thelwell, who previously held similar roles at Wolverhampton Wanderers and New York Red Bulls, will oversee all football operations at Ibrox. Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin are believed to be frontrunners for the vacancy left by Philippe Clement's sacking in February. Thelwell aims to bring success to the club, and he is already involved in the SPFL competitions working group for the 2025-26 season and the league body's compensation tribunal working group. Former Everton head of recruitment Dan Purdy will work alongside Thelwell as technical director, replacing Nils Koppen. Ibrox chief executive Patrick Stewart is set to stand for election onto the SPFL board on 24 June.
