Hugo Ekitike's impressive form for Eintracht Frankfurt, who are currently third in the Bundesliga and chasing Champions League football, has caught the attention of numerous Premier League clubs. The 22-year-old French forward, who already has 19 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances this season, was previously linked with Newcastle United and may yet move to England. Ekitike's journey to stardom began at hometown club Reims, where he joined on a professional contract at 17, spent a loan spell at Danish Superliga side Vejle, and scored 10 goals for Reims in Ligue 1 the following season. His breakout season came with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has adapted to play as a lone striker and is rapidly proving the doubters wrong. If Ekitike does leave Frankfurt this summer, it will likely be for a significant profit, as the club has a history of selling top talents to "end clubs" as part of their master plan.
