Leicester's dismal performance: Are they experiencing their lowest ebb yet?

Leicester City suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Newcastle, extending their winless home streak in the Premier League to eight games without scoring. This is the first time in the top four tiers of English football that a team has lost eight consecutive home league games without finding the back of the net. Former Leicester winger Matt Piper, speaking on BBC Radio Leicester, expressed his dismay over the club's current state, calling it "as bad as it's ever been."

Leicester have registered 82 shots on goal this season but have only accumulated an expected goals (xG) tally of 6.58. Against Newcastle, their possession was at a healthy 58%, but their creative spark was once again missing, with an xG of only 0.47. This is particularly troubling for a side that has previously lifted the Premier League title, traveled Europe in the Champions League, and hoisted the FA Cup.

Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged the team's poor form and lack of results, stating, "There's no questions, it's dealing with this setback, another one, and that's for now what I can say." Defender James Justin admitted that players are struggling for confidence.

Despite being on a winless run of nine games, Leicester still have their Premier League status intact, but Justin did not provide much hope when asked about their chances of staying up. Fans' sentiment is largely negative, with many calling for a clearout and expressing concern about the club's future.
