Mbeumo and Wissa: Both Battering Away as Top Striker Duo

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa celebrating a goal during Brentford's win against Brighton

Brentford strikers Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa scored in a 4-2 win against Brighton, taking their tally to seven matches this season where they've both netted. The pair are joint-10th on the list of strike partnerships who have scored in the most matches in a single Premier League campaign, with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino (twice) holding the record at 10 matches. However, Mbeumo and Wissa are still in contention to break the record, as they have five matches left this season. Brentford manager Frank praised the pair's consistency, with Mbeumo being the main scorer and Wissa contributing significantly with open-play goals. The duo will need to significantly increase their scoring rate to catch Tottenham's Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, who have scored in 37 matches together for Spurs.
