Rudiger Braces for Potential Suspension over Ref Object Incident

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger is held back by a member of the coaching staff after being sent off against Barcelona

Real Madrid suffered a controversial 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, with several players being sent off in the closing moments. Defender Antonio Rudiger was dismissed for throwing an ice cube at the referee, having earlier come on as a substitute. Jude Bellingham and Lucas Vazquez were also shown red cards for their reactions to a controversial decision. The referee report suggests Rudiger could face a suspension of between four and 12 matches under the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary code. This is not the first time Real Madrid have had issues with referees this season, with tensions boiling over after a formal letter was sent to the RFEF in February, accusing Spanish refereeing of being "rigged" and "completely discredited."
