Anger-Fueled Arsenal Aims to Counter PSG with Lessons from Bournemouth Defeat

Mikel Arteta looks on during Arsenal's game with Bournemouth

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth, dealing a blow to their preparations for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain. Mikel Arteta's side needs to overturn a 1-0 loss from the first leg, but the loss to Bournemouth leaves them with some concerns, especially their struggles with defending set-pieces. Arsenal have conceded 38.7% of their goals this season from set-pieces, the most in the English top flight. The Gunners will need to score and keep out a PSG side that has scored a league-high 42 goals at home this season. Arsenal has dropped 21 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, a worrying trend as they cling to second place, three points ahead of Manchester City. If they fail to secure a top-four finish, it would be the second consecutive season they miss out on Champions League football.
