Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi is on the brink of joining Arsenal after all parties signed the relevant documents for his transfer. The deal is subject to a successful medical, which Arsenal are organizing. Zubimendi, 26, has a reported £51m release clause and has been a long-term target for Arsenal, who are also keen on signing a new centre-forward, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres among their preferred targets. Arsenal are also in talks over new contracts for key players such as Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Gabriel, Leandro Trossard, Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri. Zubimendi has been a key player for Sociedad since debuting in 2019 and has been linked with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Liverpool. He shone off the bench for Spain in the Euro 2024 final against England.
