David Beckham's Inter Miami suffered a 4-1 loss to Minnesota United in MLS action, with Lionel Messi scoring the only goal for the hosts. The defeat was Inter's heaviest since Messi joined in July 2023. After the game, Minnesota posted a photo on Instagram referencing the color of Miami's kit and their league position, to which Beckham, who co-owns the club, responded with a comment about respect. Minnesota then posted a picture of a banner from the game, again prompting a response from Beckham. Inter won the Supporters' Shield last season but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs and currently find themselves in fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference.
