In the final day of the Premier League season, five teams - Manchester City, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest - are competing for three Champions League spots. Manchester City needs a draw against Fulham or for two of their rivals to draw, while Newcastle needs a win against Everton and hope teams below them also drop points. Chelsea needs a win against Forest or a draw and an Aston Villa loss, and Aston Villa needs to win against Manchester United, with Chelsea or Newcastle losing or drawing. Nottingham Forest needs to win against Chelsea and hope Villa or Newcastle draw. Qualification for the Champions League is crucial for financial reasons, with around £100m up for grabs compared to around £30m in the Europa League.
