Watford fire head coach Tom Cleverley after failing to reach the Championship play-offs. The Hornets finished 14th in the table, taking one point from their last five matches. Cleverley was appointed interim boss in March 2024 and confirmed in the post the following month, managing for 60 games with a win-loss record of 20-26. Sporting director Gian Luca Nani acknowledges Cleverley's contribution and expresses hope for the young, talented squad. Watford are now seeking their 10th permanent head coach since Nigel Pearson's dismissal in 2020. Cleverley was the first head coach to last an entire season since Javi Gracia in 2018-19.
