English striker Liam Delap, 22, has chosen to join Chelsea instead of Manchester United after a heated race for his signature. The decision came following Chelsea's final-day victory over Nottingham Forest, which confirmed Champions League qualification. Delap was impressed with Chelsea's style of play and the club's potential fit, as several former Manchester City academy graduates, such as Jadon Sancho, Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Cole Palmer, are set to join him at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United can now move on from their pursuit, but face the challenge of finding a new goalscoring solution, with options like Bryan Mbeumo and Jean-Philippe Mateta, both being expensive and uncertain. Everton, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle also showed interest in Delap, but ultimately lost the race to Chelsea.
