FA-Bound Carsley Signs Contract Extension Through 2027

England under-21 manager Lee Carsley

England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley has extended his contract with the Football Association until 2027, a week before the team attempts to defend the European Under-21 title they won under his guidance in 2023. The tournament takes place in Slovakia this month, with England's first game against the Czech Republic on 12 June. Carsley's side is packed with exciting young talent, including Arsenal's Ethan Nwaneri, Tottenham's Archie Gray, and Liverpool's Harvey Elliot. However, striker Liam Delap and potentially midfielder Jobe Bellingham may miss the tournament due to moves to Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, respectively. Carsley has challenged this year's squad to improve upon the performance of the 2023 champions, who won all six games without conceding a goal.
