England Under-21 manager Lee Carsley has extended his contract with the Football Association until 2027, a week before the team attempts to defend the European Under-21 title they won under his guidance in 2023. However, striker Liam Delap and potentially midfielder Jobe Bellingham may miss the tournament due to moves to Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, respectively. Carsley has challenged this year's squad to improve upon the performance of the 2023 champions, who won all six games without conceding a goal.
