Crystal Palace's Europa League qualification is under threat due to concerns raised by Nottingham Forest over their multi-club ownership. Uefa's regulations state no individual or legal entity can hold a majority of shareholder voting rights at two clubs in the same European tournament. American businessman John Textor, owner of Eagle Football - which holds a 43% stake in Palace, also owns a 77% stake in French side Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League. If a ruling is made against both clubs, given Lyon finished sixth in Ligue 1, Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League, could potentially gain a spot in the Europa League. Nottingham Forest has expressed its concerns to Uefa, and a final ruling will determine if Crystal Palace has breached the rules. Palace argues their qualification was an achievement accomplished entirely on their own merit, and they operate independently, not within the structures of a multi-club model.
