Manchester United to Initiate Talks for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo to Strengthen Attack

Manchester United are reportedly set to commence negotiations with Brentford over the potential transfer of striker Bryan Mbeumo this summer. As the Red Devils look to reinforce their attacking options following a disappointing goal-scoring campaign last season, Mbeumo is being identified as a key target by head coach Ruben Amorim.

Despite making significant investments in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United managed only 44 Premier League goals last season, the fifth-lowest total in the league. With both players contributing minimally, the club is keen on bolstering its attack with the addition of Mbeumo.

Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha has already agreed to join United, subject to the completion of his international duties with the Seleção. United are optimistic about their chances of securing Mbeumo's services, as the 25-year-old Cameroon international is reportedly interested in a move to Old Trafford.

While Mbeumo primarily operates as a winger, his versatility, dynamism, power, and speed make him an attractive proposition for Amorim, who values flexible players. The Brentford forward scored 20 goals in the league last season and is viewed as a valuable addition to the United squad.

It is worth noting that Mbeumo, who joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019, has a year remaining on his contract, with the option to extend it by another year. However, no release clause is stated in his deal at present.

Mbeumo, who has been left out of Cameroon's upcoming friendlies against Uganda and Equatorial Guinea, is expected to be a primary focus for United as they seek to address their goal-scoring issues.
