Champions League: England Secures Fifth Team Slot

Arsenal's victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals guarantees England a minimum of five teams in the Champions League next season. With Liverpool and Arsenal seemingly set to finish in the top two of the Premier League, England could have as many as seven teams in the Champions League in 2025-26 if Aston Villa win the competition this year but fail to qualify through the Premier League, and if Manchester United or Tottenham win the Europa League. The coefficient table rankings determine the additional Champions League spots, with countries that finish in the table's top two earning an additional spot. In the Premier League, the additional spot would go to the team in fifth. England currently has Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Brighton, and Bournemouth vying for the fifth spot, with all teams separated by 12 points.
