Chelsea Defender Rudiger Slapped with Six-Game Suspension for Hurling Object at Referee

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger received a six-match ban for throwing an ice cube at the Copa del Rey final referee, Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, after being substituted in the match against Barcelona. The ban, given by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), includes all remaining La Liga games this season and the opening game of the 2025-26 season. Jude Bellingham's red card for dissent after the final whistle was revoked due to video evidence provided by Real Madrid. Rudiger, who is already out with a knee injury, is expected to be out for six to eight weeks, possibly ruling him out of the Club World Cup.
