Manchester United Manager Ruben Amorim Reiterates Commitment Amidst Premier League Struggles and Europa League Final

In a Uefa briefing at Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has denied any intention of quitting the club amidst their dismal performance in the Premier League. Despite guiding the team to a Europa League final against Tottenham on 21 May, United currently sit in 16th place, heading for their worst finish since the 1973-74 relegation campaign.

After the Premier League defeat by West Ham, Amorim had suggested that if he couldn't fix the club's problems, the hierarchy should find someone who could. However, in this latest briefing, he stressed that he is not planning to leave, stating, "I'm far from quitting."

Amorim acknowledged the team's poor form, expressing his responsibility for their results and emphasizing the need for improvement. He admitted that failing to beat Tottenham would make the situation even more challenging, with the patience of fans and the media likely to reach its limit next season.

Regarding the potential loss of the Europa League final, Amorim stated, "It would be a waste of time." He urged his players to win, emphasizing the importance of the game, both for the financial rewards of Champions League qualification and as a standalone football match.

In a show of solidarity, Amorim and his players have decided to help out the backroom team's families by paying for some tickets to the final in Bilbao. This comes at a time when the club is planning up to 200 more redundancies following last year's 250 job cuts.
