Grealish's Future in Doubt as He's Omitted from Man City's Squad

Manchester City left Jack Grealish out of their squad for the final Premier League game of the season against Fulham, raising further questions about his future at the club. The 29-year-old has made only seven league starts this season and has scored just once in each of the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. City boss Pep Guardiola did not provide a reason for Grealish's omission, saying only "selection." Former City goalkeeper Shay Given suggested that the writing is on the wall for Grealish, who should consider his options. City's season has been disappointing, with no trophies won for the first time in eight years, but a point against Fulham should secure a Champions League place for next season. Guardiola has hinted at a smaller squad next season, and with 32 players currently listed on the club's official website, numerous departures are likely. Grealish, who joined City for £100m from Aston Villa in 2021, has struggled to replicate his best form and has become accustomed to warming the bench. He failed to play minutes at Wembley against Crystal Palace last weekend, with Guardiola instead giving a surprise second-half debut to Argentine teenager Claudio Echeverri. Grealish has scored just four Premier League goals in the last two seasons and was left out of England's Euro 2024 squad last summer. It remains to be seen whether he will be selected for City's Fifa Club World Cup squad.
