Haaland Poised to Make Immediate Impact for Man City upon Return from Injury

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is set to make his comeback from an ankle injury this weekend, according to manager Pep Guardiola, as City aim to enhance their Champions League qualification prospects. Haaland, 24, has been sidelined since March but could feature in the FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest later this month. City are currently third in the Premier League, three points above sixth-placed Forest, and will face Southampton on Saturday before the FA Cup final and the final two league games against Bournemouth and Fulham. In an interview with ESPN, Haaland cited a lack of "hunger" in the City squad as the reason for their disappointing season, but Guardiola urged his players to discuss the matter among themselves. Haaland has scored 21 goals in 29 Premier League games this season and 30 goals in 40 games overall, seven goals behind Liverpool's top scorer Mohamed Salah.
