
In a shocking incident, a 53-year-old man from West Derby was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving following a car crash during Liverpool's Premier League victory parade. Seven people remain in hospital, while 79 casualties have been identified. The incident occurred when a Ford Galaxy, which had followed an ambulance, ploughed into fans on Water Street around 18:00 BST on Monday. The suspect is now being questioned until Thursday, and the police are investigating the vehicle's movements before the incident. The man is not believed to be involved in terror activities.
The incident marred an otherwise joyous occasion as hundreds of thousands of Liverpool fans celebrated their team's second Premier League title and 20th top-flight league title in the city center.
