Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to salvage their disappointing domestic seasons by winning the Europa League, following losses in their last Premier League fixtures. Despite a run of poor form in the league, both sides have been impressive in the Europa League, with United unbeaten in their last five games and Spurs winning four of their last five.

The two teams' contrasting approaches to the final preparations were evident in their team selections for their last league games. While Manchester United opted to bring back their regular starters, Tottenham rested several key players.

Tottenham have an advantage going into the final with a better goal difference and a more prolific attack, having scored 21 more league goals than United. However, United have conceded fewer goals, with only 54 compared to Spurs' 61. Son Heung-min, who is battling back from a foot injury, could provide a threat for Tottenham, having gone close to scoring against Aston Villa in their last game.

Injuries have been a problem for both sides, with Tottenham losing key players Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison for the final. Pape Sarr picked up a back injury in Tottenham's last game, although he was taken off as a precaution.

Despite their poor form, Manchester United have a history of success in European finals and may have the edge due to their big-game experience.
