Manchester United's Woes Continue as Poor Form Persists - Amorim's Winless Streak Reaches Seven Games

Manchester United's poor form under manager Ruben Amorim has continued, with the Red Devils suffering a 2-0 home defeat by West Ham, leaving them in 16th place in the Premier League. United have accrued just 24 points from 25 league games, dropped to 16th, and their win record sits at an uncomfortably low 24%.

Since Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag in November, the Red Devils have only beaten relegated duo Ipswich and Leicester in the league. Their league performances against non-relegated teams have been particularly dismal, with United picking up just 23 points from a possible 87. Removing results against the three relegated teams, United would sit rock bottom.

At home, United's record has been particularly damaging, with nine home Premier League defeats, matching their most in a single league campaign at Old Trafford. United have fallen behind in 19 out of their 25 league games, going 1-0 down 12 times at Old Trafford.

In terms of goals, United have the sixth-worst record in the league, failing to score in 10 of their 25 league games and finding the net 30 times. They also have the second-worst conversion rate, after Crystal Palace.

United's European campaign has provided some respite, with Amorim's unbeaten side facing Tottenham in the Europa League final on 21 May. If they win, they will be granted a place in next year's Champions League. However, Amorim himself has expressed concern over how they will fare in Europe's top competition, given their abject form and the increased calibre of opposition.

Looking ahead, United can finish no higher than 13th, five places worse off than their previous lowest finish in the Premier League - eighth in 2023-24. The Red Devils are now guaranteed to reduce their lowest-ever points tally for a Premier League campaign, set at 58 in 2021-22.

Premier League table since Ruben Amorim joined Manchester United: 1. Liverpool 55pts, 2. Arsenal 49pts, 3. Newcastle 48pts, 4. Aston Villa 45pts, 5. Chelsea 44pts, 6. Nottingham Forest 43pts, 7. Crystal Palace 42pts, 8. Man City 42pts, 9. Brentford 39pts, 10. Bournemouth 38pts, 11. Brighton 36pts, 12. Wolves 35pts, 13. Fulham 33pts, 14. Everton 32pts, 15. West Ham 28pts, 16. Man Utd 24pts, 17. Tottenham 22pts, 18. Ipswich 14pts, 19. Leicester 12pts, 20. Southampton 8pts
