Enrique Slams Club World Cup Pitch Quality: 'Bounces Like a Rabbit'

Lumen Field pitch

PSG Manager Luis Enrique slams Club World Cup pitches, describing the ball as bouncing like a rabbit, following his side's 2-0 victory against Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. Enrique urges FIFA to improve pitch quality for the Club World Cup to be considered the most prestigious competition. The Spaniard also highlighted the difference in conditions compared to European pitches, affecting their playstyle. Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid shared similar concerns, criticizing the pitches after their 3-1 win against Pachuca. The upcoming FIFA World Cup, set to take place across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, raises concerns due to the conditions of the pitches, with five out of the six venues being used by NFL teams and usually having artificial turf. Previous tournaments, such as the Copa America, have also faced criticism for the state of the pitches.
