England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who was born with a serious eye condition, has defied the odds and is heading to Euro 2025 as England's number one. She has had multiple operations to try and correct her vision but still has depth perception issues. Carla Ward, Hampton's manager at Birmingham City, said she was "born to be a footballer" and her international manager, Rehanne Skinner, praised her technical skills and passing range. Hampton was dropped by England months after winning Euro 2022, but bounced back and has risen to the top. She will now compete for the goalkeeping spot in the Euro 2025 tournament, filling the shoes of Mary Earps, who recently retired.
