In the 2024-25 season, Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres scored an impressive 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting Lisbon, averaging more than a goal per game. Despite his prolific form, former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand has expressed doubts about Gyokeres' ability to transfer his success to the Premier League. Gyokeres, who has been linked with a move to United and other top clubs, is known for his intelligent movement, work-rate, and tactical awareness. He scored six goals in the Champions League, including a hat-trick against Manchester City, but questions remain about his ability to perform against stronger defenses. Gyokeres joined Brighton in 2019 but failed to make a Premier League appearance before joining Coventry on loan and then Sporting for £20.5m.
