Kelleher Heads to Brentford in £18m Transfer Deal, Sources Say

Caoimhin Kelleher of Liverpool raises his right hand

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, 26, is set to join Brentford for an initial fee of £12.5 million, potentially rising to £18 million with add-ons. Kelleher's move follows an agreement between the clubs, with his departure seen as a replacement for Mark Flekken, who is leaving for German side Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutch goalkeeper is expected to join Leverkusen for around £8 million. Kelleher, who has a year left on his contract at Anfield, will be replaced by Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will join Liverpool in July. Kelleher has played in 25 Premier League games for Liverpool since making his debut five years ago and has won multiple titles, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cups, and a Uefa Super Cup. Flekken, who joined Brentford from Freiburg for a reported £11 million in May 2023, has played in all but two Premier League games over the past two seasons, registering 14 clean sheets and three assists.
