Leicester Sack Manager Van Nistelrooy in Surprise Move

Ruud van Nistelrooy

Leicester City have confirmed the departure of manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who oversaw a disastrous 19 defeats and five wins from 27 matches last season as the club was relegated from the Premier League. The Dutchman's exit, described as "mutually agreed," comes more than nine weeks after Leicester's relegation, with former Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche heavily linked as a potential replacement. The club is also facing a potential points penalty for alleged financial rule breaches. Van Nistelrooy thanked the players, coaches, and staff for their professionalism and dedication during his time at the club.
