Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is set to depart the club at the end of the season as his contract expires, having won 16 trophies with the club. City manager Pep Guardiola has praised De Bruyne as one of the greatest midfielders to play in England, comparing him to former City greats Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero, and David Silva. Guardiola has suggested De Bruyne will receive a statue outside the Etihad Stadium in recognition of his contributions. City are planning a fitting tribute for De Bruyne before the end of the season, and he may play in the Club World Cup for the club. De Bruyne has scored 106 goals in 413 appearances for City and has won multiple Player of the Season awards.
