Liverpool on brink of Salah extension

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a new contract with star forward Mohamed Salah, whose current deal expires at the end of the season. Although no final agreement has been reached, sources indicate positive progress in negotiations. Salah, who has been a key player for Liverpool since joining in 2017, has scored 32 goals across all competitions this season. In a recent update, captain Virgil van Dijk stated there is progress in his contract talks, while talks with Real Madrid are ongoing for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Salah's iconic status at Liverpool was established with his key contributions to the 2019 Champions League and 2020 league title wins. Despite earlier comments suggesting he may be on his way out, Salah's form this season remains strong, with 27 goals and 17 assists in 30 Premier League games.
