Rangers are yet to identify a leading candidate for their vacant managerial position, with reports suggesting that Davide Ancelotti, assistant coach at Real Madrid and son of outgoing Bernabeu head coach Carlo Ancelotti, is set to be offered the job. However, the Scottish club is just one of several options for Davide, who has also been linked with Italian club Como, according to BBC Sport columnist and Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. Rangers continue to discuss potential candidates, with sources indicating they are still in the early stages of the process and that suggestions of a leading candidate are inaccurate. Current interim head coach Barry Ferguson will manage Rangers' final two games of the season. Davide Ancelotti previously assisted his father at Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton, with his father taking charge of the team selection, while Davide managed the day-to-day training. Davide will be with his father for the first two weeks of June before potentially starting his own managerial career.
