Haaland: "Everyone's Performance has been Poor," Slams "Horrific" Season

Erling Haaland jumps to head Manchester City's first goal against Crystal Palace in December

Manchester City, currently fourth in the Premier League, 18 points behind title-winners Liverpool, face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, 17 May. The match represents City's last chance for silverware this season. Striker Erling Haaland, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has been instrumental in City's success since his arrival, including two Premier League titles, the Champions League, an FA Cup, and a Uefa Super Cup. This season, however, has been tough for City, with Haaland scoring only 11 goals in 23 league matches since October.

In the interview with BBC Sport, Haaland expressed his desire to finish the campaign with a trophy and stressed the importance of winning trophies for the club. He also spoke about Crystal Palace, stating their upcoming match will be difficult due to Palace's quality players and their strong performance against City in their previous encounters.

Haaland has been recovering from an ankle injury and returned to action in City's 0-0 draw against Southampton on Saturday. To speed up his recovery, he uses red-light therapy. The FA Cup final against Palace will be one of de Bruyne's last appearances with City, as he is set to leave the club in the summer. De Bruyne, who has won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, and the League Cup on five occasions, is second in the list of most assists in the Premier League era, with 119 assists, behind only Ryan Giggs.
