Carson's Double Victory: 11 Trophies Before City Exit

Scott Carson touches the Champions League trophy

Manchester City goalkeeper Scott Carson, 39, will leave the club this summer when his contract expires. Carson, who joined in 2019 and won 11 trophies with the team, including the Treble in 2022-23, was often the third-choice keeper behind Ederson and Stefan Ortega. He played only 117 minutes for City, but made significant contributions, such as saving a penalty in a 4-3 Premier League win over Newcastle United in May 2021 and coming on as a late substitute in a Champions League draw with Sporting Lisbon in March 2022. City praised Carson's work ethic and positive attitude, and former teammate Kyle Walker commended his mental strength in maintaining a love for football despite being the third-choice keeper. Carson has played for 10 teams since his professional debut for Leeds United in 2004 and was a part of Liverpool's and City's championship-winning squads.
