Kevin de Bruyne, the 33-year-old Belgian midfielder, has completed his move to Napoli following his departure from Manchester City at the end of the Premier League season. De Bruyne, who won 19 major trophies during his ten-year spell at City, will now work under former Chelsea and Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte. The midfielder rejected an offer from MLS club, Chicago Fire, to pursue a Champions League opportunity in Italy. Napoli announced his signing with a computer-generated image of De Bruyne wearing a crown and sitting on a throne, captioned "King Kev is here". De Bruyne played a crucial role in City's historic Treble in 2023, becoming the second English side ever to achieve the feat. He bid a tearful farewell at Etihad Stadium following his final home league match against Bournemouth in May. City has already signed midfielders Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan and Rayan Cherki from Lyon to fill the creative gap left by De Bruyne. There is a possibility that De Bruyne could face City in the Champions League next season, as he joins Napoli along with former Premier League midfielders Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour.
