Liverpool Secures £40m Deal for 'Brilliant' and 'Characterful' Kerkez

Milos Kerkez

Liverpool have completed the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for a reported fee of £40m. The 21-year-old Hungary international has signed a five-year contract with the Reds. Kerkez is Liverpool's third major signing of the transfer window, following the arrival of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

Kerkez made a significant impact at Bournemouth during the 2024-25 season, starting all 38 Premier League games and helping the Cherries achieve a club-record total of 56 points in the top flight. He ranked third for the most distanced covered among all Premier League full-backs, third for most sprints, and made the third-most crosses from open play.

His arrival at Liverpool may signal the end of the road for either Andy Robertson or Konstantinos Tsimikas, as Kerkez is expected to take Robertson's starting slot. Robertson, 31, has won a raft of major trophies with Liverpool but trailed Kerkez in several key areas last season.
